About Bill Foster
Detective Foster is a twenty-year veteran with the New York City Police Department. During his career, he has assisted with over 12,000 arrests.
In 1994, Officer Foster started his career at the 28th precinct in Central Harlem as a patrol officer. After three years, he was reassigned to the Street Narcotic's Enforcement Unit (SNEU) within the confines of the 28th precinct.
In 1998, Officer Foster transferred to the Organized Crime Control Bureau (OCCB) where he performed the duties of an undercover officer purchasing anything from drugs and guns throughout the five boroughs however his main assignment was in the County of the Bronx.
After eighteen months in organized crime, Officer Foster was promoted to the rank of Detective while continuing to work as an undercover officer for three years. In 2000, Detective Foster switched assignments and became an investigator where he worked as a ghost, considered the hardest assignment in the narcotics division, during buy and bust operations. While working in OCCB, Detective Foster shared his time in the Intelligence Division working with the Dignitary Protection Unit along with the Secret Service and FBI. These duties consisted of personal security for Presidents of foreign countries and Heads of States. Additionally, he has taken courses with the FBI and is considered an expert interrogator.
In 2007, Detective Foster received the title of an expert witness for the Bronx DA's office. During this time, he was called to testify and give his expertise on procedures involving tactics, handling and field testing of certain types of drugs.
Currently, Detective Foster speaks all over the country on police-related topics, self-defense awareness and security surveillance. Detective Foster currently holds the rank of a 3rd degree black belt in Goju Karate and a practitioner in 5 other styles – Kumite Ryu Jujitsu, Streetology Jujitsu, Okinawan Goju Karate, Knife Fighting, Thai Chi and Panantukan (Dirty Boxing). He was inducted into the New Breed Life Association (NBLA) Hall of Fame in 2018.
